WHO IS RESPONSIBLE?

Oluwadarasimi Taiwo-Taiwo trading as MERAD is the controller of the personal information used to run this shop.

This notice covers our storefront, checkout, customer support and order emails. This notice also covers information retained from pre-launch test orders.

WHAT WE COLLECT.

When you check out, we receive your name, email and delivery address, the products and sizes ordered, amounts, order and payment references, payment status and delivery tracking details. We also keep messages you send us and the information needed to handle returns or complaints.

Your browser supplies technical information such as IP address, browser details and requested pages to our hosting and security providers. A random checkout identifier links an order to your browser. Bag contents, saved items and your theme choice are stored on your device.

Stripe collects payment details on its hosted checkout. MERAD’s website database does not receive or store your full card number or security code. Stripe sends us the information needed to confirm and manage the order.

WHY WE USE IT.

Orders, payment, delivery and order support: we use contact, order and delivery details to take steps you request before a purchase and perform our contract with you.

Accounting and statutory rights: we use relevant transaction records to meet legal obligations, including tax record-keeping and consumer-law duties.

Security, troubleshooting and disputes: our legitimate interests are protecting the shop, preventing duplicate or fraudulent transactions, resolving problems and defending legal claims. Test orders and test emails help us check that these functions work. We balance these uses against your privacy rights.

We do not add customers to a marketing list through checkout. Any future marketing signup will have a separate explanation and choice. We do not sell customer information.

We need your contact and delivery details to process and deliver an order. You can browse without placing an order.

WHO RECEIVES YOUR INFORMATION.

• Stripe: hosted checkout, payment processing and payment security.
• OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure: website hosting, order storage, access control and technical security.
• Resend: sending confirmation and dispatch emails, including the order details and delivery address shown in those emails.
• Google Gmail: customer support when you email us or reply to an order email.
• Royal Mail, Evri, InPost or DPD: the delivery information needed by the courier handling your parcel or an arranged return.
• Google Fonts: the site currently loads fonts from Google, which receives your IP address and browser request information.

We may also share information with professional advisers or public authorities where necessary to meet legal duties or handle a claim. We limit sharing to what is needed. Payment, hosting and delivery providers may also use information for their own security or legal responsibilities.

INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING.

Some providers operate internationally, so information may be processed outside the UK. Applicable protection can include a UK adequacy decision or contractual safeguards for international transfers. Contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your data.

Providers explain their own processing in their notices: Stripe, Resend, Cloudflare, OpenAI and Google.

HOW LONG WE KEEP IT.

We keep records for as long as needed for the purpose they serve. For orders, we consider delivery, returns, outstanding disputes and applicable accounting or tax record requirements. For support messages, we consider whether the enquiry is resolved and whether the correspondence is needed as part of an order or legal claim.

Test-order records are retained while needed to verify payments, stock handling, emails and fixes. They are reviewed before launch so unnecessary personal information can be deleted or anonymised. Technical logs and copies held by providers follow their applicable service retention arrangements. We do not promise immediate removal from provider backups.

Contact us to ask about retention of a particular record. Where a legal requirement or unresolved claim prevents deletion, we will explain this.

COOKIES & BROWSER STORAGE.

We have not added advertising pixels or analytics trackers to the storefront. Hosting, security and Stripe checkout can use their own necessary storage. The private administrator sign-in is provided by ChatGPT; shoppers do not need it to shop.

You can clear site data in your browser, remove saved items and empty your bag. Blocking necessary cookies can stop checkout or order-status access from working. Clearing browser storage does not delete server-side order records.

YOUR CHOICES & RIGHTS.

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access or correct your information, erase it, restrict its use or receive a portable copy. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. If we rely on consent for a future optional use, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Email meradclothings@gmail.com to make a request. We may need proportionate information to confirm your identity. We normally respond within one calendar month; if an extension is permitted and needed, we will explain it.

You can complain to us about our handling of your information and to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Our order system does not make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects; Stripe may use its own fraud and security checks.

KEEPING THIS NOTICE CURRENT.

We update this page if our data uses change. Its date shows when it was last revised. Any new optional marketing or tracking will be explained before it is introduced.
